Football in space is the first of its kind for the facility.

“It has been an honor to fly Michael Strahan into space at New Shepherd,” said Michael Edmonds, Blue Origin’s senior vice president of strategy, marketing and sales. “We are delighted to have this space football being featured in the Hall of Fame to inspire current and future generations to reach space for the benefit of Earth.”

Football isn’t the only space-related sporting item on display in an American sports museum: In New Jersey, the USGA Golf Museum and Library at Liberty Corner is home to the golf club that the late NASA astronaut Alan Shepard used on the moon in 1971.
